A Suffolk kitchen by the dunes
Bought in late 2016 by well-known Suffolk chef-restaurateur Jonathan Nicholson, The Sail Loft carries experience from Good Food Guide-recommended Suffolk destinations. Expect a warm welcome, great hospitality and skilfully prepared food using the finest ingredients.
Food Menu and Drinks Menu
The Sail Loft is all about simple good food: superb seafood dishes, Wagyu burgers, veggie options and light bites, with local, seasonal ingredients, daily specials, specialist coffees, craft ales, wines and spirits. The relaxed and spacious dining rooms, bar and outside eating areas give you room to settle in. Sample menus are viewable below. Actual dishes may not be available at the time of your visit, so the published board is always subject to availability.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner
The venue currently publishes Sunday to Wednesday 9.30am to 3.30pm and Thursday to Saturday 9.30am to 9.00pm. The current menu lists food served Mon-Sat 9.30AM - 8.30PM and Sunday 9.30AM - 3PM. The take-away service available from 12noon to 8pm can now be ordered directly online instead of waiting on the telephone.
Five rooms between town and harbour
It is a café-bar and restaurant-with-rooms right next to the beach. Upstairs are five well-appointed en-suite bedrooms, comfortable and well-appointed bedrooms with views across the sand dunes and marshes. Our rooms are well appointed with views across the sand dunes or marshes. The Sail Loft sits between Southwold Town and Southwold Harbour. You can book and check availability through eviivo. Only registered assistance dogs are allowed in the bedrooms.
Dogs, gatherings and parking
Well behaved dogs are very welcome in the restaurant and bar areas. The room works for a special celebration with family or friends or an informal business meeting. Our own private parking includes our own limited free spaces at the restaurant, plus a separate public carpark next-door and an adjacent pay-and-display carpark right next door.

At busy times we will let you know as soon as a table becomes free. Please give notice if your plans change. The kitchen must be informed of any allergies, and the request form gives allergies and special requests their own fields.
